alright so i got some cons about 2 weeks ago, 2 male and 2 female. the other day i noticed the 2 being extremely aggressive towards the other two, and then i noticed baby fry swimmin around... not sure how i even missed the eggs. They have been in there for 4 days and i was wondering when to move the fry into another tank, or better yet if i could put them in a breeding net that hangs on the top of the tank or would the parents go crazy seeing their babies in the net? finally how do i move these little guys and when so they dont get eaten? Should i use a net? ****im probably gonna get alot of crap for this one**** ir could i just suck them up with a gravel vac and have the hose dump them into their new home?

convicts are the best parents, they will protect their young, and if all hell brakes loose they will eat them, and breed again. if you want u should take out the other pair. and make sure you put a screen or sponge around the intake of the filter. GL

Take the two that are being chased out. The two that remain are the parents, and they will tend to their young well.

ok o took out the other two.... how do i know when to take out the fry?? i didnt even notice the eggs the first time, i am worried that they will lay eggs again and then eat the fry b4 i notice what they have done

I would take out 1/2 of the fry as a backup, and when you see some dissapearing take the rest out.

BTW, you could also set the other two up to breed. Females have orange on their sides and males do not. If they are the same sex, you have an excuse to buy more fish.:)

theres two pairs in the tank already actually. we put the two being bullied back in so that there is a chance that they breed too

It will be very hard to breed two pair in one tank...

Not to mention the constant risk of fry being eaten...

the guy we got them from had two pairs in one tank no problem. So im sure its not that hard. What happened to them breeding on a wet table? (jk)
