yes i know i know most every1 have breed cons but this is my first time breeding other then my accidental molly breeding(black and silver mollies breed to make da da da dalmatian mollies) anywho i bought 4 week old cons to grow out for my main tank in hopes a pair would form and breed so my jag cud get a meal for free and me possibly sell back to the store i bought them from. well anyway i noticed that 2 of them were coming out of the same cave together during feeding time and fought off the others. i thought they might be ready to be moved but wen i went to pic up their cave to catch em for inspection(they usually stay in the cave so i pic it up and they stay in the 1/2 inch of so of water left in it) anyway when i picked it up i noticed there were about 20-40 eggs. i was omfg saweet, now the eggs are fertile wen they are yellow correct? if so then in a few days ill hav wriglers and soon free swimmers who will feed off my sponge filter thats right next to the cave.

i looked back in the cave this morning and the eggs were not there and the parents no longer guarding it. which means they either ate them or moved them which is my question do cons move there eggs ever?

hello mr. v on my site i have breeding logs and how to get they rare koi convict. i breed these guys for money feeders and fun! the first to thrid spawn they eat the eggs. but to get them going again change water everyday and add some cooler water. i feed mine alge waffers, once the spawn they will do so every 3 weeks unless they are moved. if you would like to check out my breeding program just ask me in a pm.

see thats wat i didnt find wen reading up on them thx.

no problem i have kept convicts for years and have found the secrets to breeding them and rasing health fry.

yes like bloodworms, brine shrimp, betta pletts. thats what i use oh alge waffers are good to.

Al;gae wafers are only good if they can break them up. But also try feding Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold+ as a staple pellet.

Blackworms, earthworms, and tubifex worms are also good for conditioning.
