considering a flowerhorn!!

I really like Super Red Dragons :)
Also, it is recommended 1 Flowerhorn be in no less than a 75 gallon.
55's don't have much turning room anyway.

IF you get him small a 55 will be ok for a while. It will just depend on how much you feed him. As far as types go flowerhorns come in a wide variety of colors and styles. Find the one that you like the best and I know you will be happy. Red Dragons are very nice and can be absolutely gorgeous!! I found one FH that I just thought had the coolest color and he has turned out to be quite the fish and one of my favorites. I have him in a 220 with another flower and both are getting huge!! Good luck on your hunt!!

some short body FH might be fine in a 55 with good dimension!

make sure and get a quality specimen and you should be happy. You could get stuck with a female or one that doesnt produce a nice horn.Get the one that already has horn on head

a 55 is fine...sheesh. as long as you keep up with water changes and really leave him alone in there he will do fine. its the absolute minimum i would recommend tho.
