Hi All,

Well filtered and maintained 90 gal.

So I'm starting to bore of my Sds.

I have 5 and they are not as active as I would have hoped. In fact my 10 inch o is more active then they are.

I would like to get something more interesting in there.

I started out with a GT, 3sds and my O but it didn't work so I gave away the GT.

My O chased him constantly until he bit back. But my O was a serious pest. Would never stop chasing.... ever..

I think I'd still like to have another cichlid in my tank but would I have the same experience with any other cichlid as I did with my GT. Would my O let anything else live in there?

Any species recommendation?

What about introducing another O at this stage?? Would that be easier than another cichild?

If I tried this I would buy a divider at first to get them accustomed to each other but what are my chances of success here?

Don't want a violent tank just something more interesting than my Sds.

Does anyone have any good pictures of pictus cats? I heard some nightmare stories of the Os getting hurt by trying to eat these guys.

My regular SD's are calm and still but my Red Hook's in the other tank are very active and continuously swim around. And they're much better looking too.

Yes O's do get hurt trying to eat them but as long as the pictus cat is 6" it shouldn't be a problem. As when they are older they might just try and eat your O:eek: . Not saying the are killers it's just they get on the nippy and aggressive side as they age.

I have always had luck with Oscars and Jack Dempseys

i had my O with a JD and they got along fine. but my O got along with anything but another O. but good luck with whatever you do
