My monster Endli I've named Devil is super aggressive. First day I brought him home he ate a bichir, and then the next couple days he ate another one similar to his size. I then put him in my ex girlfriend's tank and he ate all her fish too. He's back now, and I caught him yesterday biting my Lapradei on the tale.

My water conditions are pristine with no signs of ammonia, nitrates, or nitrites, pH is a little high at around 8.

I got a call from my LFS and they said they got some fire eels in today. I loved my old one but I'm afraid these 7-8" fire eels will get killed by the endli. Any suggestions?

Also, I feed him medium hikari cichlid gold sinking pellets everyday. He likes them a lot and he will eat probably 10-20 everyday.

Also forgot to mention that he is around a foot long. I have 5 baby bichir seperated from right now until they grow because I know he will eat them all.

Sounds to me like you need to keep this guy only with fish larger than himself. The fire eel should be fine with the baby bichirs, as long as they can't fit in it's mouth, but to put it with "Devil" would make for a very short ending.

Keep solo or get bigger fish that cannot be swallowed. Like pbass, wolf fish, arowana etc, if u can’t upgrade to a larger tank if planning large tankamtes then keep solo.

This is disturbing news as I absolutely love him. He will have to be put in a separate 55 gallon.

Thank you for all your replies.

Experienced similar situation with a Endlicheri that ate 2 Senegal Bichir. So I will repeat what other members stated keep the Endlicheri with larger fish including larger LW jaw Polypterus with the exception of a large Ornate.
