Midwater THANK YOU for this, it's very much appreciated and really helpful to see things in real life rather than try and imagine it onto my paper planning.

I think I will do as you have done and put water pipes coming in under the floor rather than my original (and seemingly now complex?) Plan of coming in and around.

Floor drain definitely wins over trench drains for fish things although the trench drain needs to go in the equipment room anyway as it's shared with the dogs and I like to be able to wash things down properly.

I have a much neater plan now, I'm on tank maintenance and water changes today so I shall think it through while I'm doing that and get back to you with a plan on paper for your input.
