Texas!
So my yellow tang has been inverted for 24 hrs now. He can straighten himself out for about 4 seconds and swim around, then he goes back to being inverted. He has been fine ever since the move - about 3 weeks ago, but all of the sudden yesterday he's doing the inverted thing

I'm guessing it is a swim bladder issue, but anyone else have any ideas?

Hes got no fins. Put him out of his misery.

Well he has been fine for the past 2 weeks - eating like crazy, grazing on rocks, etc. But now he's inverted. I guess he could be exhausted, but he did fine with the previous owner (I bought the tank used) and did fine for 2 weeks with me.

Sorry but I have to agree with VLDesign. IMO he's just about done.
There's not really much that can be done at this point.

Looks like someone has beaten the hell out of him.
Best thing is try and learn from your (or in this case more so the previous owner's) mistake. . . .

What else is in there and how big is the tank?

Is that a royal gramma or a royal dottyback in that last pic?

Its a doddyback. The yellow tailed damsels that the previous owner had in the tank went into my 20gallon and the tang's fins have been regrowing nicely.

Plus he's back swimming 100% normal now! This tang just won't kick the bucket.

is he still eating...last time my copperband was doing that and going upside down he died a couple hours later but he wasnt eating i believe you can save this fish i wouldnt put it out of his misery try to put him in a QT tank if you have one so you can focus on helping him with some wound medication and help his fins heal im not familiar with any wound medication for sw tho so i would do some research will they even grow back?

He's eats like he hasn't eaten his whole life. Nothing gets past this tang at feeding time so much so that I'm starting to consider hand feeding my starfish since they don't get any food.
