My brother has a 5'' Shubunkin that has been either Constipated or has a swim Bladder Infection. How do i go about curing Him?He does Not Eat and has not in 3 weeks.
This treatment is for goldfish that are constipated and not eating. Gently catch the fish and with it's head out of water use an eye dropper to put 2-3 drops of cod liver oil directly into it's mouth and release it, it should work within a few hours. Once it starts normal bowel movements increase the roughage in it's diet.
Sometimes, they also sometimes rest on the bottom, constipation with gas can lead to swim bladder problems. If it is swim bladder disease you will need a broad spectrum antibiotic like Binox or Maracyn 2.
Hello I am trying to find a little more information on the health of Shubunkins. I am hoping someone here will be able to help me. I have what you would call an Japanese/American Shubunkin he/she has the lavender/bluish color from head to fin on both sides but my main concern is the scales look like they are peeling off. Same thing with my other two smaller shubunkins as well. What could be causing this?
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to be asking this I hope it is.
