I posted this on AC earlier, I'm really wanting some insight on this, please?
I went to a lfs today looking for a nice severum to put in my 150gal with my 3 gold tinfoils. They were out of sevs, but the guy tells me he has a 200gal himself with 4 TFB's, 6 male Peacock cichlids, a catfish and a pleco.

I never knew Peacocks were compatible with TFB's. Is this guy jujst feeding me a line trying to get me to buy their overpriced Peacock's instead of looking for a sev?

TFB's are pretty fast, and could probably hold there own. TFB's are pretty active it might actually stress out the cichlids.

I kind of thought this guy felt he had someone come in that was willing to just go with anything, and he would be able to sell 4 to 6 of their 50 dollar peacocks to! I'll find me a good sevrum soon enough.

If anyone else has heard of this mix let me know. I have seen a couple people's tanks with the barbs with the electric yellow's, I guess that worked for them.

i have 4 large tinfoils with a bunch of aggressive ca/sa cichlids. the tinfoils do fine and most of the fish ignore them. if not, these guys are so fast they can swim away quickly

Its an odd mix but it could work. The tfb can be kept in a wide range of water parameters and are mid to upper water fish while the peacocks hang more toward the rockwork.Would be a fun to watch tank.

African peacocks or SA?
