Dear community !
I just bought a used fish tank. The previous owner used that tank as a salt water tank. But I want to use it as a fresh water tank.
Now I brought that tank home already but I don't know what to do with it. The tank comes with all the overhead filters, wet/dry system, etc... But what do I have to do in order to convert all those things to fresh water use? Do I have to wash and clean all the filter systems also the tank before I can cycle the tank ? It's a really big and heavy tank though.
I appreciate for any advices or suggestions.
Thanks.

tank it filters etc out side....hose ane i (think) white vinigar...and tell your kids to go nuts lol

I had to do the same thing with my 100 gallon tank. just rinse it out... nothing fancy. you're should cycle the tank before you add fish anyway, and a little salt residue won't be a problem if there's any left.

Thanks for all your helps. It's a 250 gals tank ( acrylic ). It's a used tank so the acrylic isn't clear anymore, but I just need a bigger house for my lovely fish at a cheap price, so I'm very happy with it.
Anyway, I will have to rinse all the filter systems and change the media also.
