Crappy pics as all I had today was my cell phone, but you get the pic. And water is still a little milky due to the sand, but should clear soon.

This is a 180g with 100lbs of Pool Filter Sand and immitation Lace Rock.

I will post the Old PIC first with the black gravel and the heaters and canister filter lines in the tank. Made the tank seem busy and very dark.

New pics are with wet/dry plumbed in and all heaters below in the sump. Much cleaner and more room for the fish.

As for scale the Gar is around 14" and the Dat is just over 12".

Enjoy, hope to put better pics up soon. I'm loving the sand!

Looks great! How long did it take you to clean the pool sand, or did you have to at all? My fiance wants sand. Would pool sand cloud the water nonstop with an Oscar rearranging the tank to his tasts all the time?

much better! me likes it....

I took to 5 gallon buckets to the shower and cleaned about 4-5 large cups at a time. I washed, drained, washed drained, and switched buckets about 4-5 times each time.

It turned the water REAL ORANGE on the first rinse. I would say it's a must to clean it first. Once cleaned I don't think it will cloud water during a movement.

Real nice! Needs a jar though..

Looks real nice. How big is the gar? What type? I love the look of sand and want to try it out on one of my tanks in the future.

Shouldn't mine settles quick enough so no damage is done.

Liking the sand! gives the tank a nice clean look
