Ok...if someone doesn't mind taking the time, what exactly would be involved in this?
Right now its a fairly empty 20g, I have a magnum 250 HOT & a penguin 200 (biowheel) filter hanging on it right now. Only the magnum is in use but thats not really important.
So I would need...a protein skimmer? A source for water? Refractometer/Hydrometer (whatever that device for measuring salinity that I'm thinking of is...)? A bunch of liverock & livesand?
Right now the tank only has a single 20 or 30 watt fluorescent bulb, would it be 100% necessary to upgrade immediately? Or could I do a fowlr setup for a while with that light?
I'm trying to figure out how much this would actually cost, so if you can make product recommendations (budget-minded products....) that'd be cool
Chances are I won't be able to afford it for a while, I just want to see what sort of cost I'm looking at when I can.
Also...I'm looking at the 20 because its my only spare tank, the stock in my 55 & 65 aren't going anywhere. But, the other option would be spend a little more and get another 55-75g tank and use the 20 as a sump. This would probably be a little more ideal, and puts the whole idea off for another year+ until I can get into a house.
