ok just a standard 55 gallon, need help with cheap lighting options and substrate suggestions im familiar with flourite and would probably end up using that.

as far as stocking of fish i was thinking of maybe and bichir if possible. but thats just a side thought. i really want colorful active fish maybe some blue rams or somthing.

please help really only am familiar with oscars and other central and south american cichlids

zig zag eel

they live in the sand. thats legit. i might have been confused by the video... wouldnt that mess with the plants and root structure

rams r cool,
as long as ur tank is cycled and u have no extreme flucuations in ur water parameters( which u wont) then there pretty hardy.
theres alot of colorful gouramis out there,
angel fish u could do, also all these stay a decent size so if u really wanted to add a bichir i think ud b fine

I had one in a 20g planted before and it didnt seem to do anything to the plants

ok cool I really like bristlenose plecos or gold nuggets. what about a cory like fish or cool loaches what are hillstreams like?

you could go with scats and make the tank slightly brackish, they get a lil bit bigger but u could buy them small and eventually either get a bigger or trade them back to the pet store for more smaller ones when they got about 12". Personally they seem jsut like cooler datnoids
