Hi guys I have a couple wilds and a couple domestics, and all they will eat is blackworms. How can I get them to eat BH and spirulina flakes along with granules? I've been just throwing in flakes for three days with no luck. ANy advice or help will be appreciated. Thanks

Starvation, perhaps garlic additions sometimes work

I stumbled across fish foods from Captain Bob at Chicago Swaps http://www.captainbobsfishtales.com/ I was amazed how many live food only fish I kept would eat his "Beef heart Frenzy" and "Top Secret" foods. Top secret is a fine food that even my angels and discus will eat, the frenzy is a well balanced slow sinking crumble.

I'm looking forward to his talk at the Fall Fish Fest in Madison WI

Good luck

Thanks for the reply my wilds are picking at the beef heart flakes I got from angels plus, but they just spit it out. The domestics don't even touch them

How big are your discus? I just to feed them on live blackworms only, now i am able to feed flakes & granules but not BH. I tried couple times and don't have to time to do WC right away so BH is not an option for me. The key is patient (won't happen overnight), you have to let the starve for few days before introduce new food little by little. It also help if you have other fish in there that eat new food.

good luck :)

The domestics are 2.5 and 4" and the wilds are 5" and 6". I realized now that only one wild really picks at the flakes the other ones don't. I am going to continue to just throw in flakes until they eat them. I have a group of twenty neons that eat them too
