Hey all,

Thinking of converting my 72g Freshwater tank into a Salwater tank.

Problem is, I've never had a saltwater set-up before. What all would I need to make it work? Like, chemicals, lighting, substrate, etc..?

I currently have a Fx5, and malfunctioning heater, and some normal sand/finely crushed gravel.

So, what all would I need to convert my 72g freshwater tank into a saltwater tank?

Thanks for all the help/info..

Start w aragonite substrate, salt mix like instant ocean or Hw marimnemix, a hydrometer, skimmer and sump . but before you do anything I recommend finding a reliable source of info and READ, READ,READ, before you make errors in purchases and Go Slow and remember mistakes are really learning curves to the road to success. I have kept Marines and reefs for 28 yrs and loved the journey though sometimes it was very disheartening and frustrating. Good Luck!
