I’m currently planning to convert my saltwater tank to a cichlid tank. May I know how I should go about doing it? The saltwater tank has been left dry for quite a while, so nothing is alive in there (no live sand/rocks etc). And Can I reuse the bacteria supplement I got for the saltwater tank to seed the filter media?

If the bacteria supplement is for Saltwater no. If you know someone with Freshwater aquarium's ask them if you could have a little bio-media from their filter to help jump start the Nitrifying Cycle. As you probably know already make sure you add a good dechlorinator to the tap water.

Also even gravel or Ornaments from a established aquarium will have bacteria on it.

Ok thanks! Btw do I have to flush out all of the salt in the tank, or can I leave it as it is and just add freshwater?
