Hey Everybody,

My aunt is turning her saltwater tank to fresh now. We have emptied the tank of water and sand. Thier is loads of hard algae and salt build up on the tank walls. I would scratch it off but it's acrylic. I heard filling the tank with water and vinegar should work. Whats the ratio? As the system all together is about 90 gallons.

Thanks A Million

A lot of people use vinegar, and I haven't heard much bad about that method.

I just threw in what was left in the bottle maybe just a liter lol probably wont do much at all. However im trying to figure out thd ratio to water. I think i read 1 part vinegar to 10 part water so i got to tell her to grab 9 gallons of vinegar... I think its to much but i could be wrong...also does anyone know if it is bad for acylic?

Bad for acrylic is the scratching part. I do not think that vinegar, per se, is bad and i would put a lot of vinegar in it, with a pump circulating the water and let it lie like that for a coiple of days.

It is not guaranteed that everyting will clean.....
