Convict and JD pairing up?

I know I have a male Convict for sure, and I believe the JD is a female, a lot of blue around the gills, looks like a beard.

Anyways, they are in a 10 gallon grow out tank. They are always together, swimming side by side. Does this mean they are pairing up? There is alittle chasing by the male. I had a female con in there, but she got beat up by the JD. The JD seemed a little jealous!

Think if they are small enough to be in a 10Gal tank then they are not even at the age of pairing off. They are just being juvie fish. I have a 6.5" Oscar that has befriended a Blood Parrot cichlid, but that doesn't mean they are a "pair"
