Convict and?

ok so i rescued this female convict.....as you can see she is with out a tail, had her bout a month now and she eats like a piggy and gets around perfectly fine,

currently she is in a 35 gallon by her self, when my tanks are swapped she will be in a 22 gallon planted,

i want to breed her for feeders if im devoting tank to her,

my question is..i want to get her a male convict, but i think over time he might be a little to mean for her,

can anyone suggest something i could breed her with that will be fine for a 22 and not super aggressive?
(ignore the goldie in the pics..he was rehomed the day after these pics)

lots of fish will breed with cons, but most are as big or bigger than they are ...

if you don't want to go with a male convict, maybe try a male Firemouth ... IME, they are less aggro than convicts

the pink cons I've owned have also been relatively peaceful ....

What you have is the "heart-Shaped, also known as Half Moon" Hybrid of the convict cichlid..........Try breeding this female...........Pick out the fry that have no tail, and that are proportioned OK, and breed them over and over.....This Convict strain earns lots of money and trade back credit in local stores and on the internet sales...........

What you have is the "heart-Shaped, also known as Half Moon" Hybrid of the convict cichlid..........Try breeding this female...........Pick out the fry that have no tail, and that are proportioned OK, and breed them over and over.....This Convict strain earns lots of money and trade back credit in local stores and on the internet sales...........

yeah?...i thought it was caused by an injury... but maybe! i will try breeding her and see if i get any hearts.^_^ maybe ill just get the smallest male con i can find.

I think they actually cut the tail don't they? Humans. But in a 22 gallon I personally would keep her alone, it's not a big tank.

Heart shaped convicts are a common thing in San Francisco..............Price range from $5-12.99 for a 2-4 inch speciman...........
