i have two convicts a male and a female and she laid eggs last sunday and from what i could tell the male did his job but after he did he wanted nothing to do with it. he was always hiding and the female was left to watch them. I looked yesterday and all the eggs are gone and she is swimming around. i dont know if this is their first time trying cause i got them as a pair from jeff rapps. They are by themselves in a 20g, their only like 3.5" and 2.5" and in a few months i am going to get a 40g breeder. But my questions are could she have eaton all the eggs? Why wasnt the male defensive? Is there anyway i could help build their bond? If i do a large water change will they breed soon after?

thats what i thought but they never turned white. they were a kind of brown from what i could tell.
Is there anyway i can build the bond of these fish? What could i do to speed up for them to breed again?
