Convict Breeding - How Long Do Parents Care

My Convicts have mated many times but I usually sell them off or use them as feeders.

How long will the parents care for their fry before they eat them assuming they do. I have one Polypterus in the tank but the Convicts keep him away.

Theyre housed in a 30 gallon so the fry dont exactly have a place to go to other than the other half of the tank. Right now they stay in the nest Ive created.

Fry will grow with the parents........Usaully they will eat their young at about 3-5 weeks old or when the female is ready with eggs again.......I have bred cons many time....Most I have bred a con pair in one month is 3 times...........

my convict was a good mother for about 8+ weeks . . . after that, juvies were on their own . . . now that she has her next batch, she will just about kill any of the first batch that get close
