Convict breeding triggers?

Well I have had my convicts for about 2 months and have been trying to get them to spawn. I tried colder water changes, temp changes, giving them tons of places to spawn. It really depends on the fish. If they are in a tank with other fish they may not spawn for the fact that they are to worried about the other fish eating/fighting then for their fry. I moved mine into a 20 gallon 2 days ago by themselves and earlier today I found a clay pot filled with eggs. Try moving them to their own tank. just give them time they will do it. Also keep a high protein diet. I feed all my fish frozen brine shrimp and blood worms every 2 days and feed them cichlid sticks the rest.

Are you sure you have a male and a female? Post pics please. Also, try putting a few little flower pots in the tank.
I had 2 males and 2 females in a 29 gallon tank and they wouldn't stop breeding... Had to get rid of them cause we ran out of tank space and my other fish couldn't eat the fry fast enough lol

I was given a pair a month back that were pretty torn up and had ich. I placed them in a 20 gallon for quarintine, pushed the heat up to 90 degrees and added a ton of salt and ich rid over the next few days........ on the 4th day of having them they have spawned ! Its true when people say just add water !
This thread sole purpose for being created was for it to raise the OP post count to make his scam sales threads look legitimate. So there is no real reason to to keep replying. I mean really, convicts + water = babies.....
