So 2 of my Convicts had babies and they are free swimming now. I think I've caught the baby bug, I'm incredibly interested in the interaction between the fry and parents but it got me thinking. With Cichlids this easy to breed is it possible to breed for traits such as markings, color fin length etc through selective breeding?

Yes. Don't forget body shape. I'm saving the ones with the elongated body shape and the most dark spots on the sides. Eventualy, I plan to make a hybrid.
