I know everybody on here has heard, or is aware that convicts are the easist fish to breed.

But i just wanted to post that my female convict, the only fish in her 30 gallon tank has layed two clutches of eggs (probably in excess of 75 each time). I don't know if she is waiting for a male to "drop in", or what? I have bred convicts in the past, but I have never had a lone female of any species just start laying eggs. I thought ya'll may want to know.

A friend of mine used to have one of those ugly little blood parrots in a 20 gallon by it's self and it use to lay eggs all the time she said.

I wish mine would lay eggs I have been trying to get my pair to breed for 3 week nothing.. They swim together all the time but no baby's :nilly: :WHOA:

Sorry to hear that Thunder. Mine layed eggs after 5 days of being together. They're fist batch of babies are 3 weeks old now, destened to be feeders.

firemouths and cons breed so much it is not funny...so i believe it that the wish would do that

Hightimez: How many young convicts are in the tank in your "blood-sucking video"? What size tank is that? What was the meat? Cool video.

lol thanks!
theres probably 80-100 surviving frys in there.
tank is 20 gal.
and that was a fozen bloodwurm.

;)

i just bought a carpintis and a convict (female) yesterday and now my already existing male con and the new female are doin the little dance. that was quick!

hmm, i wonder if males do anything if they are in a tank with no mate.

I have two females in my main tank.... The one gets desperate everyone few months, locks herself in her pot, and lays eggs. I refuse to give in. :-)
