I hav a Bunch of convict cichlid fry about 5 weeks old.Wondering if i could mix them with african cichlids when they get the the size:confused::WHOA:

You don't generally mix Africans with SA/CA cichlids. Their water chemistries are quite different.

the answers ur gonna get are that it is generally not a good idea, but it has/can be done....convicts can be mean as he!! when breeding too, so something to watch. I have tried it once or twice and did not have good results..

So they will fight??

Currently i have 2 juvenile african cichlid inside with my 5 weeks old Convict .Currently everthing is ok they dont fight and the african wont attack them

I've mixed a 5-bar cichlid with my male and female con.....
...it lasted a good while but then i got rid of the b-bar lol.

depends on which species of african too...the problem is I would definitely avoid having convicts possibly pair up as that increases the aggression significantly. Might as well cull the fry or use them as feeders for larger fish
