Convict Cichlid Questions...

As im looking around MFK and I have noticed some people have convicts with a hump on their heads. I know its a male thing but what can I do to promote this kind of growth?
 
Also change tons of water. These are some of mine.

Wow! This are some awesome fish. I hope mine turn out like that. How long have you had em for? How often should I water change? 50% every two weeks, does that sound good?
 
I change 50% at LEAST one time per week.....]V[onster water changes! He is 3 years old in that pic. I have had them get that big in a year and a half - two years though.
 
alot is genetics. diet will help. Mine seem to be largest right before they breed
