I was curios if any of you guys know of specific foods to feed cons to bring out there colors. Thank you all.

i feed mine frozen brine shrimp and Tetra-color granules. there metallic colors in the fins really pop out with this type of feeding.

I feed mine Hikari Bio-Gold and krill.........that brings there color out the most...........

I always just fed mine Hikari cichlid gold.....

The con is male, 3.5" only still, but it's fins are really long...it's got blue colors all it's fins and under the gills by it's mouth....

I just saw it fighting today and I noticed all it's fins going towards the rear of it's body had a copper/orange'ish sheen to them along with the blue too! :headbang2

I keep the temps at 75-80 degrees, and change the water 30% every week...the con swims freely and is bully to the other fish though. I remember a month ago, it lived in fear in my Red Devil tank, living in the shadows...it was dull and grey...now I moved it to a peaceful tank and it's colors developed.

I feed my Cons, and all of my Cichlids, a very varied diet and all of them have superb coloring.

Staple foods are Omega One and Hikari Gold pellets.

Supplemental foods are dried krill/shrimp/plankton, algae wafers, Omega One Veggie Rounds, Omega One Tubifex Worms, Omega One Dried Blood Worms, frozen krill/shrimp/plankton, lettuce, dried sea kelp, bits of soft fleshed seedless fruit (peach, papaya, banana, mango, orange, tangerine), blanched unbuttered unseasoned veggies (carrot, green bean, peas, beans, zucchini, cucumber), live crickets, grub worms, meal worms, red worms, night crawler, ghost shrimp.
