IN FISH PARADISE
ofcourse 90 % of the fish keepers have / had / has convicts lol

so we all have experience with convicts either as feeder or as breeders or just keeping them

into the subject .. :headbang2

how can i get a marble convict ..

i don't want to use marble parents ..

now i have small group of convicts from a white male and zebra female

so is there any chance for me to get a marbled convicts from them ..

just if i ll get 2 or 3 i ll keep them and take every marbled from every breed until i get what i want and have a cool marbled parents i can work with ..

so if any one had such that in any breed

tell us about it and what are the parents ..

:popcorn::popcorn:

Well I think its all about genetics. If the parents your using have some of the marble DNA in them then there is a chance you will get marbled cons.

u mean a breed of white male with zebra female won't get any thing ??

I had a pair of pink convicts in which the male had a dark splotch on one of his gill plates and never thought anything of it. I had a few fry left from the pair after I gave them away which as they grew started to get dark markings on them. I'm now raising the second generation from my original male and the fry are starting to show markings before 1".

I don't know if you can get marble's from a black x pink convict, but you might get lucky. It seems that the trait starts off very subtle and come's with size/age. Watching this generation grow it becomes more apparent

these pair i have now ( white and zebra ) is small in size and young ... so they will not give alot ..

that can help me to grow them all up and see i ll get ..

i hope so much that i ll get any spot .. if that happened i can take that spotted one and put him with a white ( other sex ) group so he can pair off then i ll just keep taking the best together until i get a full spotted group ..

chances are if you breed a pink con to a striped con you'll get about 60% striped and 40% pink. the only way you'll get marbled fry is if both parents carry the marbled gene.

it's much easier to get marbled parents and breed marbled fry that way. ;)

i know it is easier if i have a marbled parents .. but here no one knows the marbled convict yet

and the convict prices now is very low ( as am a breeder and care for the price i get on the fry )

so i want to get to the marbled so that i ll have a new chances of higher prices ..
