This is Mohawk... He is an offspring of a regular female and a marble male. We only kept 3 from the spawn and this guy was the only one with the unique dorsal fin. Anyway, here he is...

Next is him and a marble female to see if the marble gene is recessive AND to see if he throws anymore with his look... preferably some white/pink marbles!

They have eggs:naughty:

Hopefully it was an early injury and not a genetic issue, so it can't be passed on.

If it was an early injury it was in fry stage. So I guess it's possible...

Interesting look, I think it's rather neat. Name fits him well ;)

Thank you! There really wasnt nothing else to call him if I was gonna name him. Lol

Not a genetic issue, just some unique traits. And yeah it's cool.

Thanks and yeah I dont think it really is either. Just a different oddall look... One to love or hate. Lol

Guess I don't see the draw in purposely breeding in deformities.

It's just like a short body... a deformity. If I were breeding to sell I would have used his normal brother. But I like the look and that's the only reason I chose him. Dont worry they wont make it to your lfs. Lol

Cool fish. I like how the orange makes his Mohawk stand out.

I have a male con that has his dorsal fin exactly like that. I thought it was bitten but it is completely healed. Will see if I can get pics later cause he is in one of my tanks ( well her tank but Im like a co-owner lol) at my aunts house

Thanks man. Yeah please share because I thought he was the only one lol. I thought it was a deformity because of mixing the marble and regular genes... I guess not. Lol

Ill see if my cousin can send me a better pic later but here is one. It looks normal but its not.
