convict eating eggs

my convict just ate about half of her eggs. it is her first time breeding. Is this normal and will it get better with future spawns? and assuming she will eat the rest how long until they spawn again? Thanks

The only reasons (that I know of) that cichlids eat their eggs are because the eggs were either infertile or she is getting stressed out about something and eats the eggs. I only had 3 babies survive my convicts first spawn. After that. she kinda got the hang of it... even if she did raise the kids by herself...
