I was wondering if I got some convicts and breed them and use the fry as feeders if that is better then buying feeders once a month input would be great thanks in advance

yes i have done it before and it works but the convict fry grow slow

Good way to avoid illnesses that can come along with feeders bought at the store. More work though

I found it to be too much time, effort, space needed, feeding, and care just for feeders. Got mine on shrimp and other non-live foods, much easier and healthier.

I culture red wiggler worms (composting worms)... They're a smaller than earthworms but a great and safe souce of protein. I've hardly bought live or frozen food in years.

Really easy in a couple of rubbermaid bins. Google "red wiggler culture" and there are bunches of links on how to do it.

Convicts will take forever to grow out...and some will elude whever you're feeding them to...so you'll have convicts in your tank...
