Right on! Female's still lookin a lil plump, perhaps ready to breed again?
Mine just got to the stage where they're lil mini fish.. transparent bellies but still with full stripes. It's fun to watch

mine still look like little tadpoles about a week old

there's probably between 100 - 200 of them, there's 2 pairs of parents.

how much longer before i can put them in with my rays and bichirs:drool::drool::drool::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::drool::drool::popcorn::rip:rip:rip:rip:rip:rip:rip

I gave the parents back 3 kids when they were about that size, and they gobbled em up. It's all about how big you want the food to be. I'm growing the first batch out to 1-1/2", for piranha food. The coming batches i will thin out by feeding 3/4" to 1" to the cichlids.

hey death... i found an awesome feeder fish for breeding on your own. i went to the LFS here and asked what would be good cause i was thinking of doing convicts again but wanted to know if there was something that would grow to a decent feeding size quicker.

he said i came into the store with the right question at the right time.

he had a tank with guppies and a fish that i never heard of before which are rainbow gudieds. they are live bearers. he had about 15 of them in the tank with a few guppies and said i can have them all cause he needs the tank for some puffers.

i have had them in a 29 gallon with only a hydro sponge filter and some water lettuce on the top for about a month. no need for a heater, and all i feed them is a bulk, high protien flake food that i bought for $15 which will last me about 6 months.

have had them for about a month and now i have about 100. just a suggestion incase you wanted to go a cheaper upkeeping route.

It will become one.. and once seperated reintroduction should only be done when the kids arent at risk of being eaten or beat up easily, even then there might be some aggression.
My lil guys have finally filled in with color, no more transparent fish.
I've been toying with the idea of getting another pair and selectivley breeding their offspring (favorable traits).
Right now they're big enough for the cichlids, but they gotta grow more for the piranha....
