convict growth rate

i just got a convict about 3 weeks ago i got him so tiny like the size of about a thumb nail now its way bigger than that but not really that big. iwas wondering what is their growth rate ?

mine have grown S L O W in my 125.

Grows FAst til it gets to the Breeding stage..Then babies babies babies..6" tops though

I had some fry grow to about 1/4" and they started to slow down. From fry to 1" in about 5 months.

I also got mine at about a thumbnail size a month ago and now they are about 3x that size and have already breed once but ate the babies and slowed down in the growth spurt.

also i hear if you raise the temp. about 3-6 degrees they will grow faster

Well make temp. would be like 82 or 84 degrees...so be careful! I think they grow faster when alone because all of that breeding doesn't stunt the growth. I think there is some chemical or something when they breed that stunts the growth of the fish....maybe I am crazy but I am pretty sure that is what it is.....

run you temp about 82 degrees, feed heavily and do 2 50% water changes a week, this will increase growth rate of most juvinille S.A. cichlids.
