ok, i have a mating pair of convicts that produced fry about a week ago. the fry is currently at the "free swimming" tadpole look stage.

today, after coming back from a short 2 day vacation, i'm noticing that the female is gaurding most of the fry from the male, chasing him away. the male even lost his brilliant dark color.

question is, should i remove the male? remove both? remove fry? etc... thanks for any suggestions.

Leave it. The male is just going about his day and has somewhat 'forgot' about the fry, but is still aware of them. The female usually does most the work anyway. Isnt this a lot like human life?

lol, you got a point there...

its funny cuz the male has a few he's "trying" to take care of as well, just a good foot away from the females area.

i heard convicts were really good parents so lets see how this first batch works out w/ both of them in the tank.
