Convict Marble

I have a pair of convict marble that was formed in my aquarium, they began to spawn and they have spawned 3 times, and this 3 times they ate the fries.
My question is:
they are eating the fries because they are inexperienced ?

Geez, I'm just following you around on the message board. Two things I'd mention here. One, is look closely, usually cons don't eat their babies, often they take them in their mouths, then spit them into a little safety pit...sometimes they end up coming out the gills instead after being cleaned of parasites. If you're watching closely, and they are eating them, well, sounds a lot like inexperience and would hopefully go away soon with some practice. Any other predators in the tank picking off some of the babies?

They may be getting ready to breed again. If they are, they will sometimes eat the first batch because they see them as a threat to the new batch.

Cons usually only eat their babies when they are stressed out and they will if any babies are sick or deformed. They only keep the healthy
