convict or firemouth?

Convicts. But at what size did it say the firemouths were? Im sure a 5" female con could easily lay 500-600 eggs.
Firemouths tend to lay eggs a tad slower than cons.
 
A QUESTION TO THE BREEDERS
The breeding pair of cons or firemouth will have same growth rate as that of a singles?
 
I agree.. i would go with convicts all so..

I have bred cons for awhile....I am guessing the prolific breeding habits of the con will turn out more fry in a month than compared to a firemouth...

I have bred cons for awhile....I am guessing the prolific breeding habits of the con will turn out more fry in a month than compared to a firemouth...The largest spawn I ever witnessed was a little more than 150..You can try to seperate the pair from the eggs immediately after laying....And place the pair in another tank, beef up the the temperature, and feed-feed-feed untill another batch is layed....Heck, I had a couple of pairs do three clutches in one month....Mind me though, I do not practice this abusive habit anymore....
 
i'd breed firemouths they look so much better unless you need the extra feeders
