I have read through the different discussions and articles, and I have overwhelmed myself a bit with all the contradictions. So, I will just post my question and hope to get a conglomaration of useful information from all of you!!
We are fish amateurs, but have been working diligently for almost a year to develop our tank and stock with, thankfully, little loss. We made the mistake of mixing Mbunas with our Convicts due to ignorance on our part and the pet store owner. We had no loss from it, but many stressed out convicts. We have since remedied the situation and we now have 6 Convicts and 3 Parrots. Our "star couple" has recently had a new batch of fry who are now three days old. We have recently introduced a new convict, and we want to treat for any new diseases that could have accompanied. This has been a practice of ours since we started the tank, and it has benefited us greatly. However, we are nervous about treating the tank with new fry. What is the waiting period before they can be introduced to any medications?
Extra info...Our tank is 75 gallons, we have sand as a substrate and natural rocks, driftwood, flowerpots and plants as decor. Don't know if any of that is needed, but there it is.
Looking forward to the answers!! God Bless!!

you should have a separate tank set up to quarantine any new fish before adding them to your main tank/tanks..
this way you can treat any new fish without treating all your fish and putting them all through the stress..
as for treating a tank with fry, im not too sure, it may be best to remove the fry to a small tank to raise them for a bit, then treat your main tank..
Best of luck..
