Females will have orange/red spotting on their abdomen. Males won't. If you are looking for a breeding pair...buy three or four and it'll happen. Those fish will breed in a wet mop if that's all that was available.

So true.

Heck, i've got 2 females and one male. So far i've had the male father one spawn from a 1.5-2" female, fry was fed/eaten by my Grammodes heh

But now the same male con is helping ward off tankmates from his spawning site with the 2nd larger female con, and she's usually fanning the eggs.

Yes, if these eggs hatch he's father 2 seperate spawns from two seperate females lol all in a 55g with my Grammodes as the feature.

If a convict has a pinkish-orange spot on the abdomen then its definitely a female.

Thanks guys. Would it be realistic to have 2 females and a male in a 25g permanently? Its being filtered by a 10g hob filter and a 20g hob filter.
