I know its probley been asked before but how exactually can you tell the deference between male and female convicts? I've read that cichlids are tons better feeders than gold fish...is this true?

first off the females are smaller than the males and the females have a slight rosey cheek/gill/side thing going on. Its pretty easy as they get mature. And as far "cichlids being better feeders than gold fish" too what are you feeding them? Because you realize the Convicts ARE cichlids......
females have an orange belly males are just usually grey n black with mayb a blue tinge in the fins ....
