Thought some of you might enjoy seeing some pictures of my first convict pair spawn in the renovated 55 gal aquarium.
Here is the female guarding her clutch of eggs, I was a pretty big batch, the eggs were laid vertically on the backside of some driftwood, so the picture is of the reflection off the back of the aquarium:
Here is the pile o' wrigglers, the female dug a pit behind some stone beside a Indian almond leaf:
This is the first time this female has spawned, I wanted to bring in some new genes and she was up for adoption at a LFS. The male is a 3rd generation (grandchild/grandfish?) of the pair in my avatar.
What is odd is how relaxed they are being toward their tank mates (2 H.Multispinosa) up to this point. In my experience the pair will be more aggro in regards to guarding the eggs/wrigglers, these 2 seem much more tolerant of their neighbors.
