convict tankmates in a 55g

I have a 55g with just a convict in it......(Boring).......what are some good tankmates i could add with him? I would like to do a community tank setup...
 
i keep one with a firemouth, 3 mollies, and 20 rummynose tetras, works for me because of the smaller tank they are housed in. But in a 55 there are so many choices, have you thought of buying a mate?
 
I'm currently keeping a group 5 convicts with 3 juvie jack dempseys and a green terror without any problems. convicts can be kept with a l most medium to large SA/CA cichlids without problems, I have a buddy that used to have a breeding a breeding pair that he kept with 2 14'' oscars without any negative reprocusion.
 
Try all male:
Con
Salvini
Firemouth
and a smaller sized catfish maybe even a Red tail or Rainbow shark.
 
What about a couple of Firemouth Cichlids and a couple of Acara along with 2 or 3 small/ medium Catfish ( Pictus or some sort of Synodontis cat' or other ) ?!.

Or a Jack Dempsy and a trio of small/ medium Catfish .

If not Cichlids , what about a large group of Tiger Barbs or Loach .
 
i moved him to my 80g...... my jaguar leaped to his death the other night....
 
in my 55 i have 3 males, a bushynose pleco, and a big ole sun cat. Looking to add one more male but that would be it.
