Mine bred at around 80 degrees and usually with a fresh water change, im not sure if they can breed at that cold of a temperature, hopefully someone can shed some light on that. Good luck. R-R R-R

C cacichlids Jack Dempsey MFK Member Feb 20, 2011 1,623 6 38 FL Feb 28, 2011 #3 They will survive that temperature but their growth will considerably slow down and they won't breed, they will also become more mellow and eat less. I'm not 100% sure on this since convicts seem to breed no matter what lol but high temperatures trigger breeding in most wild situations.

Of course, I only know this because I lost power in the winter, I don't think I could keep them outside in OK.
