Convict Womanizer??

Is it possible to have a male convict who goes between two females constantly?

The females have picked their grottoes, clearing space to breed, and I have a male that is being accepted into both territories without getting chased away. When other males enter the females' space, they are immediately deterred away; not this male though.. is it possible he will breed with both of them, or is he just picking which one he wants?

I've been breeding convicts for years now, and I've never seen anything like this..
lol any input?

This is very common in many cichlids, one of the reasons I always try to keep multiple females of any given species.
