Convict x blood parrot (Help!!!!!)

So I have had a breeding pair of convicts for awhile now. My uncle keeps telling me to hybrid a blood parrot and convict he says he use to do it a lot. With very little info on the internet and only maintaining to find one pic of this hybrid I bought a blood parrot last night. As of right now it is in a qt tank and awaiting its entry into the other tank. I know how to I.D. sex of blood parrot but was wondering if this hybrid was really even possible or worth my effort. Any advise is welcome, thankyou.

cool video thanks for the help I just wanted to make sure it was actually possible first. If I accomplish this it could be the first of its hybrid to be in florida. I have never heard or seen anyone have one here and i have done an insain amount of research.
 
Definitely possible as long as you use a female blood parrot. I had mini arguemebt with a smug guy at a LFS who swore female blood parrots are sterile and I was the only person to tell him otherwise.

so of coarse the lfs would not let me take a microscope to the bottom of the fish lol so what happens if the BP is a male? Will I be screwwed with infirtile eggs?
 
If it is a male, then most likely it will be infertile (99.9%). If it is female you shouldn't have any problems.
 
well I will definently check the sex tonight and tell you guys what I ended with but ill cross my fingures and hope its a female.
 
Almost possitive I saw a circle to tell that its female but I ended up using my eyes cause I do not own a mag glass. But let me get ur second opinion, I know its hard to tell but here's some pics.uploadfromtaptalk1357861293754.jpg
