Convicts and Tankmates in 29 gallon

I was thinking about placing two FEMALE convicts in a 29 gallon. Would this be alright to begin with? I would also like to have a small school of something to occupy the upper region of the tank if there is room for them, and if there is..what would be a good species to place in there with them?

I think that would be OK if filtration is sufficient.

I keep a school of cons in a 20. They are fry, and I keep them with my 3" Thinbar Dat and my 3" Gold Dust Polypterus. I keep a new school every week. lol

You could probably do some type of catfish like a Bristlenose. They only get about 5-6" and do a great job cleaning the tank. Not many other options though since 2 Convict, even females, will want the entire tank to themselves when full grown.

you could probably do some of the larger tetras, such as black tetras, red eye tetras, columbian tetras, and maybe some adult cardinals or black neons.
