Convicts as food

Since Convicts are easy to breed do you think using the fry as food would satify my pack of Dovii's aka wolf pack??

It would if they were small but the bigger they get the more they will need to eat and fry aint going to cut it for a 20 inch dovi!!!

how well would they breed and live if you put them in a 20 and let them go.. not taking out the babys for awhile??

I have been considering this same feeder project for a while. I guess it would be worth the time if I had a nice set-up to display the convicts, but I wonder how quickly the fry would grow and if it would be worth the time/effort to maintain another tank. How long would it take the fry to reach the 2" mark? What kind of mortality rates should be expected for the fry before they reach this size?

I just started that as well. I keep 20 convicts with 3 JDs in an 30g. They spawned but the WC might have killed the eggs.

I think I will try it but I will place them in a 20g so i can just let them eat and grow and make more babies.

do it in a 90G with abt 10-20 convicts

Thats what i use them for. I have 2 pair of breeding convicts. I Feed them to my large Jack Dempseys.
