I have a pair of black convicts, they have laid eggs twice now and both times have eaten the fry. Just after the eggs fall and start wiggling around they are eaten. All I have in the tank is the pair of cons. What can I do to stop them or what is causing them to eat them. I have one idea that may be causing it, I noticed that they sometimes see their reflections on the back wall and get defensive and agressive, could this cause them to eat them?
I have them in a 20 gal with plenty of filtration, I do 10-20% water changes a week and they are laying the eggs in a flower pot. I feed them flake food, Cichlid pellets and frozen brine (flake food twice, pellets once and a little brine at night).
