so i have had 4 convicts over a month 2 males 2 females. why aren't they breeding? Water paramters r good too. cuz they heal very quick from fin damage. i have seen my fish heal much quicker then in the dirty water. so wat u think y aren't they breeding?

Are you sure they are convicts? I had a pair bred about every 5 days after their last fry started moving.
Make sure the convicts didn't come from the same batch as sometimes they DO think of each other as brothers and sisters.

Cons max out at 3-5"...they can definately start spawning before that. I wouldn't be suprised to see them start breeding around 1-1.5". Are you sure you even have a pair yet? Also, a month isn't that long, you have to be patient. Sometimes it could take several months for them to even pair up!
im 100% sure that i have 2 pairs. i can tell male and female without venting them. its like a gift to me. i just bought a P> loisellei female cuz the male wont accept the 1 i already have. And everytime i went to buy a pair of cichlids i always have gotten pair.fisher12889;3931753; said:
