I have a breading pair of blue acara in a 30g with 9 Columbian tetra. An aquaclear 110 no ammonia no nitrate and nitrate at about 20ppm. Things are good the acara spawn and the tetra clean out the young.

Wondering if I could have a similar setup with a pair of convicts or if the cons would kill the tetra?

Thanks

They should be fine. Convicts can be mean but I don’t think they will go tetra killing. Consider Honduran red points if you are worried about aggression.

Nanolutae look really cool, never seen them before
Nanolutae are super calm comparatively, mine were with many other fish in a community tank and only chashed off fish that got close to the fry.
I would not put them with other cichlids.

I started with six Nanolutae, let nature take it's course, a few months later had a bonded pair and rehomed the remaining four.
They had three batches of fry. Only one of the fry made it, the tankmates consumed the rest.

Another good one is rainbows. Barely aggressive. My female:
