Ok, my mother heard me talking about getting convicts and getting it all set up, so being a good mom, she purchased 4 cons, from a LFS. I only had a 10 set up, with a 20 long in cycle mode. so they wont be in there too long, my question is. looking i have 2 males and 2 females as best i can tell. there are definatly 2 that have orange sides, and two that dont. one of the males is definately Alpha. Should i remove the othe male and leave the alpha with the 2 females. the tank is set up with eco-complete plant substrate, a few lilly greens. and i put in a small flower pot side ways, and a couple empty shels to take up empty space. how can one tell when the alpha has"paired" picked his mate? the 2 females are simliar in size, but one is most obviously more attractive, as far as color goes. and the alpha is a beautiful fish, and they are only 1.5 inch or so. still very small.
So should i remove the less dominate male. and when the mate has been chosen will it be very obvious ??
